Reconciling ghost assets without freezing the yard

Port containers under open sky

A ghost asset is not always stolen. Often it is a pallet that left Bay C during an offline hour and arrived in Bay F with a note nobody entered. Freezing the entire yard to hunt it feels decisive and usually wastes a shift.

Fence one aisle

Pause movement only in the last known zone. Announce the fence on radio, assign two walkers, and keep other lanes open. Your Offline Asset Movement Tracker should show the last trusted event so walkers are not guessing from memory alone.

Name uncertainty explicitly

Create a temporary “unverified park” state rather than inventing a location. Invented certainty is how ghosts multiply.

Close with a public note

When found — or when written off — publish a one-line outcome on the crib board. Silence invites rumor; rumor invites duplicate searches.
